Handy hints

I was writing this for a client and thought it might be worth wide-casting...

Deafness is difficult but there are ways around it.
There are some simple things you can do to help yourself.

Did you know that Broadway Hoyts is trialling CaptiView - personal captions, on select movies - It’s great!

Thought about lip-reading [you’re probably doing it unofficially anyway]? Better Hearing runs classes at Concord, the City, Northside and various other places. Don’t leave it until you HAVE to. Come along and join the fun!

Do you have a set top box on your TV, or digital TV? Turn the captions ON. Check your manual.

Stand up for yourself and hearing-impaired people. Deafness Forum - http://www.deafnessforum.org.au/
Keep in touch with the latest.

Even just the right phone [volume UP] can keep you in touch, or use Skype with a headset [I do - two listening devices better than one!]
Call other Skype users around the world for $0.00, other than internet cost.
